Russia may export 800,000 tns of diesel fuel to Ukraine in 2017

MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- Russia may export up to 800,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to Ukraine via pipeline transport in 2017, and part of the supplies will be transit fuel, Igor Dyomin, aide to the president of Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft, told PRIME on Tuesday.

“We exported 180,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to Ukraine in the first and second quarters each. Of the total amount, 50,000 tonnes were transit fuel. Plans for the third and fourth quarters are 200,000–220,000 tonnes,” he said.

In May 2016, Russia’s Federal Service for Technical and Export Control allowed oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft to export diesel fuel to Ukraine for civil purposes. The decision followed a two-year legal dispute between Transneft and the Ukraine on the ownership of pipelines in Ukraine and the fuel that flows through the pipes.
